Mala Bead Necklaces

What are Mala Beads? (Buddhist prayer beads) What is a Mala Bead necklace?
These are questions that I get asked all of the time.
In very basic terms – a Mala is a string of 108 beads and can have a bead / tassel / adornment hanging from the bottom. The beads that are used are usually precious gemstones, crystals, wood and seeds and are generally called “Mala Beads “. The use of these prayer beads has spread to other cultures and religions besides Hinduism and Buddhism.
A Mala is used as a tool to help the mind focus on meditation, count mantras and to remind you of your spiritual essence. As you meditate, you focus on each bead until you have reached the end of your Mala.
Each Mala is made with love, positive intention & energy. Over time your Mala can develop a deep personal meaning to you. Or you can simply wear your Unique Mala and revel in its beauty.

Caring for your Mala:

Please keep your Mala dry, wipe with a dry cloth if you wish to shine up your beads.
When storing your Mala, please lie flat.
To cleanse your Mala, leave on a clean white cloth and let it sit on a window sill in the sunlight and or moonlight for a day.
